With its gorgeous deep-relief textured dial, the new MING 37.08 Sand emerges as an instant classic in the world of horological artistry. This timepiece isn’t just a watch; it’s an expression of tangible extravagance, unique craftsmanship, and nature’s splendor—all contained in a timepiece of renowned styling.

A sunkissed desert, an ivory coast, tranquil seabeds—the MING 37.08 Sand’s dial reflects the hues and textures of the scenic landscapes you chose. It’s a watch for those who appreciate both the nature-inspired aspects of its design and the horological significance of the first playful, textured-dial addition to MING’s most maturely designed family of watches yet.
The MING 37.08 Sand is encased in a sleek 38×10.9mm stainless steel cocoon. Its narrow bezel and polished finish exude class. Its deeply-textured dial perfectly depicts dunes and waves, holding your gaze to lure you into exploring its intricacies.
At the heart of the MING 37.08 Sand lies the Swiss-Made Sellita SW210.M1 movement. This manual-wind power plant is artfully tucked beneath skeletonized rhodium and anthracite bridges. The overall package is built to excite. It oozes sophistication with the mid-grey calf strap by Jean Rousseau.
The MING 37.08 Sand is more chameleon than expected. In concert with modern or traditional fashion, it proves to be a versatile companion, adapting to different styles with interchangeable straps. In casual or formal dress, it’s able to complement any occasion.
This is the first in a new series of deep-relief textured dial watches from MING. We’re excited to see what they have in store. Expect to see coverage here on INDULGR of all the new pieces in this series as they’re released.
P.S. As of this publishing, all of the limited-edition 500 are reserved and all examples have been delivered. Check the secondary market if this timepiece speaks to you.

Sometimes we would also like to wear something a little more fun and playful: enter the first in a new series of accessible, deep-relief textured watches, the 37.08 Sand. The dial is inspired by quite a few things: seabed ripples in the shallow, calm water just before the tide line; golden sun on windblown powder; flying over the desert. It can be whatever you want it to be – and further reinforced by whichever strap you choose to pair it with.
At 38×10.9mm, it retains the now familiar 37-series case in stainless steel, and includes the series’ narrow bezel and brushed-polished case finish that makes the watch visually larger and thinner than dimensions suggest, whilst remaining pleasantly comfortable on the wrist.
A significant increase in dial thickness – without changing case proportions – is required to bring out the same visual impression of depth on a coarse matte blasted dial as compared to a smooth one. To accommodate this, the internal construction is quite different to previous watches – there is no sapphire layer to the dial, and markings and indices are in the top crystal and composed of our usual laser-hollowed cavities filled with luminous HyCeram. We pair this with a new matte gold hand set to match the dial color and curved flow of the lines on the dial.
The dial itself was developed by MT in 3D CAD after studying photographs of dunes, waves and wave propagation theory; this was adjusted for the aesthetics of a small surface and height limitations of (even a relatively thick) dial and then turned into a 3D model. We machined the negative relief of this into a hard tool steel master to use as the reference die for the stamped brass dial itself. The dial is subsequently coarse-blasted, galvanized and treated with a coloured lacquer to achieve the desired pale gold color.
Powering the watch is the hand-winding Sellita SW210.M1 in our unique execution of skeletonized rhodium bridges and a dark matte anthracite base. It is paired with a color-neutral mid-grey calf strap from Jean Rousseau to enhance the color of the dial.
