The Ming 37.04 Rose Gold is MING’s first venture into precious metals. With its debut and limited run, it’s clear they’ve wasted no effort in making this a standout piece in more than just its metallurgy. The new 37.04 is priced at CHF 48,000, with only 20 pieces stated for production.

The choice of 18K 5N rose gold for both the case and dial is a true masterstroke. This material not only gives the timepiece a warm, scintillating appearance but also creates a palpable sense of continuity, solidity, and rarity.

With this piece, MING’s meticulous attention to detail is on full display. The guilloche dial, crafted by Comblemine from a single piece of 18K 5N rose gold, is topped with an etched and HyCeram-filled sapphire upper dial. This design choice adds a layer of complexity and depth to the watch face. On closer inspection, it captures and reflects light in a way that is uniquely dynamic and captivating, not unlike the renowned photography work of Ming Thein, founder, owner, and designer of Horologer MING. 

The new guilloche pattern focuses on the chronograph minute subdial. The watch also uses CNC milling to create a modern tech pattern yet retains the classic elegance of traditional rose engines.

Powering the timepiece is the beautifully complex La Joux Perret LJP5000.M1 monopusher movement, completely reimagined in rose gold to complement the case and dial. The movement’s build is as much a work of art as it is a feat of technical engineering, with skeletonized bridges and seamless plates.

The MING 37.04 Rose Gold is the first of its kind for the brand and exemplifies a new chapter of luxury born from a sophisticated design heritage and Ming’s standard practice of compelling craftsmanship.

The 37.04 Rose Gold is priced at CHF 48,000. Prices exclude import duties/taxes, include insured shipping via DHL Express.
A 50% deposit is required to confirm orders and the balance is due when your watch is ready. We expect to begin deliveries in Q2-2024.

Our first ever precious metal offering had to be something special: so we retained a small number of the La Joux Perret LJP5000.M1 monopusher movements which were completely reworked and refinished in rose gold. Coupled with our love of chronographs, it made sense for us to start from this base.

We went all in on the concept: the watch would be a jewel-like, monolithic block of metal, scintillating and warm. 18K 5N rose gold was the ideal material for the case and dial, to complement the movement and give the impression of solid continuity. The overall construction of the watch remains the same as the original 37.04 Titanium, with the guilloche’d dial by Comblemine now made from a single thick piece of 18K 5N rose gold and topped with an etched and HyCeram filled sapphire upper dial.

The 37.04 Rose Gold has a new, deeper, and reducing radius guilloche pattern focused on the chronograph minute subdial; it is deliberately asymmetric and focused at the same time. The pattern has extreme relief for maximum visual impact and could only be created using CNC milling as it is too deep for traditional rose engines. It is a very dynamic dial – not just because of the angles of the guilloche’d surfaces, but also due to the upper sapphire layer that provides transient inversion. All white elements on the dial and crystals are made luminous with various types of Super-LumiNova X1.

All of this is housed in a case of solid 18K 5N rose gold, with our signature flared and twisted lugs. It has multi-coated sapphire crystals front and rear, and alternating textured finishes. Manufacture Schwarz-Etienne remains responsible for engineering and final assembly, with our usual partners Jean Rousseau and Koji Sato providing finishing touches.
