Grand Seiko unveiled the SLGT005 Kodo Constant Force Tourbillon at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024, limited to just 20 pieces worldwide (including 7 in Japan). This masterpiece merges art and precision, featuring the groundbreaking coaxially integrated Constant Force and Tourbillon mechanism. The case, crafted from platinum 950 and Brilliant Hard Titanium, displays a serene silver “Twilight” hue, showcasing craftsmanship with its blue sapphire elements and a strap made from Japan’s ancient “Himeji Kurozangawa” leather, which develops unique textures with age. Powered by the 9ST1 mechanical hand-wound movement, also found in the piece unique SLGT001 as well as the darker toned SLGT003, in a new pale-blue toned variant, it offers a 72-hour power reserve and 50 hours of constant force operation. Priced at 49,500,000 yen (tax included), it will be available at Grand Seiko Boutiques in December 2024.
